Rating is related to performance weirdly though it can be inaccurate due to numerous factors. There are numerous things you can do to improve but generally play more - slow play is best, study, join a chess club, use tools such as tactics trainer, and i avoid thinking too much on other people's game...

Has this brought up because of the opponent Adams had to face in the last round last year? He had a great tournament and brings a bit of romance to the event like the FA cup.

the fact chess has coverage in a newspaper that has a big audience and in whatever context is good for the game. Sports that struggle to attract an audience struggle to survive. Thanks for highlighting this Jon.

thanks. Could be a problem in a league game with no arbiter, so do you stop the clock claim the win and complain to the league about what happened after or carry on then complain?
