Re: july grades

Sounds like you need some form of league management software with automatic feeding of results into the grading system ;-) Though it will still be necessary for players to be correctly identified! Except of course, on LMS, we'll be requiring everyone to put the check letter in first before the numb...

Re: Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz 2017

Play starts each day until Friday 18th August at 1300 BST. Wouldn't that be 7am in St Louis? That's Birmingham Summer Time, the one in Alabama. Chess24 is expecting the games to start at 19:00 UK time. Thank you everyone. I did of course mean 1900 BST, or 1300 CDT (the local time in St Louis). I ha...

Re: 5th Sinquefield Cup 2-12 August 2017

No reason to doubt him, it's reassuring to know that it's not just us mere mortals who struggle to remember. For me, the remarkable thing is that they would even try. This mere mortal was recently unable to remember his supposed repertoire on move two! You were perfectly capable of taking full adva...

Re: British Chess Championship Daily Reports

I missed the playoffs and the website only shows the final game of Jones vs mcshane now - I presume Howell and Hanley got a crack at the playoffs too? At http://www.britishchesschampionships.co.uk/live-games-2017-championship/, click successively on the single left facing arrow at the bottom to bri...

Re: FIDE Suspension of Iran

I remembered yesterday that FIDE adopted a new policy on this subject a couple of years ago. Thanks, I don't remember ever seeing that, and it doesn't seem to have been reflected in the Financial Regulations. I feel that that is a matter of the interpretation of the first part of Regulation 6.1, wh...

Re: FIDE Suspension of Iran

Iran is off the list of federations in arrears. Perhaps they have paid up. However, it does appear that all other ratings are now also showing. Matters which don't affect the rating system are not my concern, but I cannot expain that. I think that I can explain it. I remembered yesterday that FIDE ...

Re: 5th Sinquefield Cup 2-12 August 2017

Thank you for your helpful post, Mick. You beat me to it by about 15 minutes. A few additional pieces of information: 1. Monday 7th August is a rest day. 2. If there is a playoff, it will be on Saturday 12th August, also at 7.00 pm BST. 3. The Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz, in which Kasparov makes h...
