Re: Britbase Updates

My guess is that Black played 33...Qe4, an active move which threatens the pawn on f5, and 34. Ne6 forces ...Ne8.

Meanwhile, back to Britbase updates. Can anyone clear up why 34... Kt-Q1 has been given. If 24... Nc4 should have been 24... Nc6 - there's still no mate in four. Maybe 34... Kt-Q1 should have been 34... Kt-K1. If Black plays something irrelevant on his 33rd move, then 34. Ne6 Ne8 would be mate in 4...

BBC channel 4 just reported on the five o'clock news that Garry Kasparov has been placed on a dangerous dissident list by Putin. They mentioned he will have his bank frozen and need permission to use it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Volunteer_Corps https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/who-...

Anyway, he makes the passing comment that Tigran Petrosian was Jewish. It hardly matters, but I don't recall that being mentioned before.
Probably because it isn't true. His wife was Jewish however.

White was T. J. Smith of Wiltshire and
Black was Joseph Eric Morton of Sheffield.
