Re: Complaint to ECF Board about CEO Mike Truran re. Development Officer appointment
Hi Carl , Sorry to take a while to reply had a surgical procedure today. Just to clarify I was not inferring any candidate was party to anything so apologies if you picked it up that way. I regard both you and Tim to have integrity. I was simply pointing out how it reads to me. Perhaps I should have...

Re: Complaint to ECF Board about CEO Mike Truran re. Development Officer appointment
Having read everything and to be very frank it appears rather obvious what has gone on here..or rather what appears to have gone on . As those that know me I am a very straight talker . First I should say that I know both Carl and Tim at a personal level and no doubt the shame of all this is it will...

Re: Millionaire Major Coughing Scandal
I was advised he did take rather a long time to answer questions.. Like three times as long as anyone else ever ... I must ask James P why this was ? Wonder what we would do if a chess player suddenly started performing real well beating masters etc ...just pay him the prize money and forget about i...

Re: 4NCL North 2014-15
Don't forget some of our North East players live a hour North of Redworth Hall and folks are considering that a home venue for North East players. Why don't we try Newcastle next year? We and those in the South West probably have the longest travel so .....we need to be first on the list if complain...

Re: How did you learn to play? How has the pattern changed?
It's was raining outside and no one was playing out . So read the sports section of my mothers Pears encyclopedia which included a section on how play chess . Made a board ,cut out some pieces and the rest is history. Mind didn't join a chess club until some five /six years later ...the British weat...

Re: Why did WIlliam Hartston stop playing chess?
Don't get me wrong folks but perhaps he got a life . I recently had lunch with a old friend and his family and he was saying how much he enjoys life away from chess with the family etc and how others had not really moved on. Some time back he was very focused on chess and a rather good player. As mu...

Re: Future e2e4 events
Peter . That is not what I said . I sure if anyone really wants to know about Sean thoughts and intentions they could pick up the phone , dial his telephone number and ask him. There's also FaceTime if you have an iPad or even write a letter. It's rather amazing how many ways one can communicate wit...

Re: Future e2e4 events
Just for the record Sean has been promoted twice in quick succession and work will be demanding I suspect . I am sure he will be back to running events when he can . I would suggest e2e4 events probably don't pay the bills on a regular basis and running events takes a considerable amount of time and...
