I think that using the ECF membership statistics does not give you a very accurate portrait of chess being played in England. On a related point, if I can get some sponsorship Jack Rudd and I would like to run a norm event (either an all-play-all or a small swiss event) in Hampstead after the Classic and before Hastings - this has proved successful before!

Long experience has taught me that you never know, but players generally enter online as late as possible!

I am not concerned, at the moment I think we would be happy to get 100-120 entries overall - thanks for the feedback on the website, I will take a look at that!
