Re: Queens Gambit and Netflix

So was your post. Chess players are such a small group that nothing would be successful if aimed at that audience only.

Re: Pedants United

Really, technically correct? As stated in the previous post, you must use the Kelvin scale. On this scale the temperature has increased from 286K to 293K. Hardly double.

Re: Incorrect chess board rotation

Sadly I remember when a DGT board was vandalised in that manner.

Re: Spare Queens

About a decade ago, I persuaded my club committee to invest in new boards and sets. The new sets had two queens. To my surprise many players disliked the second queens and did not want them on the table. Some went to the extent of returning them to the equipment box. I frequently had to sort them ou...

Re: Chess history trivia

Geoff was born in London, and has told this site several times. Why would anyone, even figuratively, want to spit in their tent?

Re: Grading history

Wadih how do I change the filter to all periods?
All I am seeing is the ability to change year, four digits only, and the month.

Re: Grading history

I am also wondering why it is no longer possible to look up the record of former opponents. Previously the system provided the names, and results, of previous years. Why is this no longer available?

Re: U.S. Elections 2020

I was aware of Spassky-Fisher, but as I only took up chess about 2006, I didn't take a great interest in it. I do remember the first moon landing, I was one of five in a three man tent in the Lairig Ghru in the Cairngorms, listening to a transistor radio. I remember the wait before it was announced ...

Re: Cheating in chess

Do we really need to get a medical certificate to go to the loo? Due to 'underlying conditions' I personally have been on diuretics for nearly two decades. Prior to today only I knew that my personal circumstances had been used at a FIDE anti-cheating seminar, as an example of how frequent toilet vi...
