Re: Canterbury - Highs and Low

You're right, last year's grades were used. Look up the grading history of the winner of the U150 though . His 125 was only an estimate given by the organisers, and he too won within the rules. Bit of an oversight there me thinks. I don't think thats correct, the winner of the under 125 comp had an...

Re: Grading Lists: Twice a Year?

Speaking as player who returned back in January 2009 and therefore still no official grade, I think its a very good idea to have a grading list that comes out more often

Re: Grading Fee breaking the monopoly

"There are costs associated with printing the grading list"

British Champs Entry Fees

What is the feeling on the entry fees for this years British, as I note the entry fee for the juniors in their own age group comps is £50.00, it seems very expensive to me!

Re: Wide grade limits for weekend congresses

I also think that having 4 sections is not the way forward, as Sean points there prize fund per section would be reduced, but you also end up playing the same players as there seems to be a small "core" of players playing in every event

Does anyone know what happened in this afternoon's game between Mark Hebden vs John Merriman at the Blackpool Open, as it shows Mark won in only 6 moves!!

Re: What should the arbiter do??

In both games the arbiters did notice that there had been illegal moves made, I could tell by their facial reactions. It just seems to me that they both "bottled" it!

Now I know you are an arbiter, can you help explain why nothin...
