Re: 21st Century Chess, in 21st Century Facilities!
As we approach our third Christmas at the Ilkley Chess Centre it is a great time to reflect on our journey to date, and to appreciate the many ups and downs that we have experienced during this journey. We have learned a lot, worked our butts off and most importantly had a great amount of fun throug...

Re: 2023/2024 Season
The pace they develop is remarkable and I am sure you will be backfilled soon. The York E board one is someone to watch out for, beating 1700s already and new to competitive play. You have the kids on a conveyor belt! The alternative option is letting the juniors keep doing their own thing :) Given...

Yorkshire Junior Chess
I am extremely pleased with the start to the season that Junior Chess in Yorkshire is witnessing. Highlights include: - 20 teams registered for the u18s league this season (up from 14 teams last season) - New/Growing junior clubs in Meltham, Saltaire, Bingley, Hebden Bridge to name but a few - Leeds...

Re: Your County Needs You! 2023/2024 County Season
We smashed the NCCU stages last season (with the exception of the Open Team, who narrowly failed to advance).
4 teams made the national stages
2 made the Finals
1 Yorkshire team were crowned national champions (u1650s)
Will be hard to beat this season, but we will try!!!

Re: 2023/2024 Season
@Jack Rudd - Mark does however make a valid point that this thread and the "2023 Season" thread duplicate each other.
Please can I ask that they be merged and perhaps renamed 2023/2024 Season?
Any help "herding cats" appreciated immensely

Re: 2023/2024 Season
Well this page has been horrifically de-railed. Would it be possible for either Jack or Carl to clean this up please? I may have to use other forums in future for updates, which would be a shame. I agree with Steve. A thread about the 2023 YCA Season should be about that, and not any individual pla...

Re: 2023 Season
So the 2023/2024 Season kicks off tomorrow with Yorkshire chess looking in fine form. We are up to 33 teams in the YCA league (across three divisions) and 20 teams in our u18s league. When we consider that in 2019 (pre-COVID) the YCA league consisted of 30 teams, and the u18s league didn't exist, th...
