Re: Chess Personality Test

It seems I am a "Surgeon" that must be down to all the time I spent In Hospitals! It had my openings spot on, so I have to give it some credence, "Nurse pass me my scalpel"
Speaking of scalpels was it Bobby Fischer who said "it is not a knight to f5 but a Knife to f5"?

Re: Find the computerish idea

Hello Martin, at first glance I would try ...Rf5 blunting the Queens scope and threatening ...Rg5+ or is that too human?

Coincidently I faced a Reti opening in a league match last night, I have not had one for a long time and f...

Tart v Stephens div 3 Sunday BCM Hippos v Aigburth was a good save, possibly instructive rook ending?

Tony Doran

With great sadness, a friend, former team mate and Liverpool Chess Club stalwart Tony Doran passed away on Tuesday 5th february. When I first joined the club in 1985 I recall Tonys help and guidance as I found my feet in league and cup competitions, in 1987 it was Tony who organised the clubs 150th ...

Re: Chess DB

Hi Ian. I never knew about clicking left and right. This is super fun. The other lad is my great friend Johnny Marr who has sadly past away. How apt that he should be there, he taught me 99% of what I know about the game and was a constant source of encouragement. I see if you click left on yours y...

Re: Chess DB

Thanks Rob for the information, I have a brother named John but he is not a chess player, I should have known it was a Division One Team as you don't get such an impressive looking trophy in Division Two! : )

They have me OK. They must have lifted it from Chandler Cornered. Me sitting in the middle of a giant chess set with my 'Scottish Player of the Year' award. (an honour I'm still stunned at receiving.) http://chess-db.com/public/pinfo.jsp?id=2461560 A super site that has been added to my favourites ...

Re: Attention Congress Players

Hi Sean, My proposal would be to charge an entry fee, then distribute prize fund not on placing but on points scored. From the recent Chester tournament taking the Major results as an example players who attained a 50% score 2.5 pts would recieve £20 each (£30 entry-£10 tournament costs) players ...
