Re: Division One 2018-19
And still, absolutely nothing on twitter or other chess media. The lack of general interest and writing on 4NCL has hit absolute rock bottom this year (one page covering first four rounds in CHESS, as a further example). I am not casting blame - like everyone else, I would do it if I had more time ...

I'm not sure Edward Winter is ever terribly impressed with anything. Perhaps he should sign up as an ecforum poster.

Regulation No 1 requires this process, regardless of what the Board or anyone else may think of its merits.

Re: Ask The Director - Just a Marketing Con?
Same question as elsewhere - why not just follow up directly with the ECF rather than kicking off on the forum?
As a for instance, why not PM or email me? It’s not as if you don’t know where to find me (or the Office, or my colleagues).

You missed the best one. One of them apparently has a risk assessment for walking into town.

Now fixed as far as I can see.
Why don’t people contact the 4NCL direct on such things? Does it improve their own self-esteem by publicising other people’s (usually hard working volunteers’) perceived shortcomings?

Jonathan You'll be pleased to know I have (I hope) at long last found a new reporter, following the resignation of both last season's scribblers - both of whom decided they had better things to be doing with their lives. Despite what you may think, persuading people to take the queen's shilling is n...

https://www.englishchess.org.uk/members ... ed-events/The ECF website seems to be lacking when it comes to information regarding what level of membership is required for the different flavours of competition. All reinforcing the feeling of an anti-FIDE sentiment

UK Open Blitz Championship
Congratulations to David Howell and Sophie Milliet on winning the above. And well done to my Witney CC club-mate Marcus Harvey on coming second behind David, beating three GMs (including David) along the way. It should set him up nicely for our away match against Didcot this Wednesday. :D http://che...
