We now have 15 teams confirmed and paid
If Bolton & Worsley make it 16 it would be good

Easy enough, no? Two Pools again, A & B. If defaults or withdrawals come, they'll likely be in rd 8-11 and affect only Pool D. Or have I missed something?Mick Norris wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 9:12 amWhich would make it simple if all teams were going to play all 5 weekends, but they're not, so not so easy

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
We had a team default last season in weekend 4 so that would muck up the final pool matches

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Yes, that could knacker things rather. But what to do? Teams have a duty of care, both to the set-up they join; and to each other, to ensure an orderly competition. If they can't manage that, no one else can manage it for them

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Absolutely
The problem is the pairings for the final weekend when last year we knew in advance that Manx 2 were missing
Keeping enough triangular pairings for the last 3 rounds is almost impossible in those circumstances when other teams might miss a day too

Any idea who J'Adoube are?
Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Cheddleton 2 & Holmes Chapel, in some form merged. Or not

Might be challenging for a promotion spot thenDavid Robertson wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 9:25 pmCheddleton 2 & Holmes Chapel, in some form merged. Or not
There seems to be a wider spread of ability than last season, or am I just imagining that?

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Overall? Surely not - we've lost the really strong team(s) from some earlier years.
Maybe one or two more weaker ones, depending quite where everyone lands up.

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Maybe, although we are in the unusual position of retaining a team that finished in a promotion place; we also have the return of Bradford A, who appear to have been promoted every year they have played in this division?
J'adoube 1 should be stronger than average too; and J'adoube 2 slightly weaker too, and with the return of Shropshire 2 there's another potentially weaker team; will be interesting to see how Bolton & Worsley are after this summer's arguments, and how strong Manx 2 are on the weekends they play
Looking forward to seeing Euwe too

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20
Bradford A really weren't that strong in Div2 last year, although likely to be a little stronger back on home ground.
We'll find out No idea who'll get promotion. I'm not sure if there's even one team who you'd say really want it this time round.

I know what you mean; we definitely want MM2 promoted, but have some strong players who only don't want to travel to play in Div 2
3Cs 2 and Shropshire 1 both have tried hard and been a little unlucky; it never looked like Cheddleton 2 would make it, but J'Adoube 1 might
