4NCL tables after round 7

Post by Christopher Kreuzer » Sun Mar 23, 2014 2:51 am

As best I can make out, the following are the 4NCL tables for divisions 1 and 2 after round seven:

3. Grantham Sharks (30) 8
4. Barbican 4NCL 2 (29.5) 8
5. Wood Green HK 2 (26.5) 6
6. Blackthorne Russia (22.5) 4
7. Oxford 1 (19.5) 4
8. King's Head 1 (13.5) 0

1b
1. Wood Green HK 1 (43) 14
2. Guildford 2 (33.5) 9
3. e2e4.org.uk 1 (27) 9
4. White Rose 1 (31) 8
5. Barbican 4NCL 1 (28) 8
6. 3Cs 1 (28.5) 6
7. Cambridge University 1 (15.5) 2
8. Grantham Sharks 2 (15.5) 0

Division 1 Championship Pool
1. Wood Green HK 1 (19.5) 6
2. Guildford (18) 6
3. Cheddleton (12.5) 4
4. White Rose 1 (12.5) 4
5. Grantham Sharks 1 (10) 2
6. Guildford 2 (9.5) 1
7. e2e4.org.uk 1 (6.5) 1
8. Barbican 4NCL 2 (7.5) 0

Division 1 Relegation Pool
1. Barbican 4NCL 1 (16.5) 6
2. 3Cs 1 (15.5) 4
3. Wood Green HK 2 (14) 4
4. Blackthorne Russia (13.5) 4
5. Oxford 1 (13) 4
6. Cambridge University 1 (9.5) 2
7. Kings Head 1 (7.5) 0
8. Grantham Sharks 2 (6.5) 0

2a
1. Warwickshire Select 1 (34) 11
2. Cambridge University 2 (32.5) 10
3. Anglian Avengers 1 (33.5) 9
4. Bristol 1 (29) 9
5. KJCA Kings (25.5) 6
6. Poisoned Pawns (24.5) 4
7. Rhyfelwyr Essyllwg (21) 4
8. Wessex (21.5) 3

2b
1. The AD's (35.5) 14
2. Hackney (30) 9
3. South Wales Dragons (28.5) 8
4. BCM Dragons (28.5) 6
5. Bradford DCA Knights A (26.5) 6
6. White Rose 2 (25) 5
7. Brown Jack (24) 5
8. Barbican 4NCL Youth (24.5) 3

Division 2 Promotion Pool
1. The AD's (14.5) 6
2. Warwickshire Selects 1 (15) 5
3. Cambridge University 2 (13.5) 4
4. Hackney (11.5) 3
5. South Wales Dragons (11) 2
6. Bristol (9.5) 2
7. BCM Dragons (11) 1
8. Anglian Avengers 1 (10) 1

Division 2 Relegation Pool
1. Rhyfelwyr Essyllwg (13) 4
2. KJCA Kings (12.5) 4
3. Brown Jack (12) 4
4. Barbican 4NCL Youth (12.5) 3
5. White Rose 2 (12.5) 3
6. Wessex (11.5) 3
7. Bradford DCA Knights A (11) 2
8. Poisoned Pawns (11) 1

The Division 2 relegation pool has the top 6 within a single match point of each other and the entire pool separated by only 2 in terms of game points. Looks like that will go to the wire.

Bradford DCA A not quite as badly done in by the carry over rules as looked possible, but still not getting a great deal there :)

Poisoned Pawns suffered a lot from the carry over rules. The official tables are now up on the 4NCL website, and somewhat to my surprise I only made one mistake above, giving Brown Jack 11.5 game points instead of 12 (now corrected). I also swapped WR2 and Barbican Youth as it seems alphabetical is what is done when teams tie on GP and MP.

Meanwhile, over in division 3, Guildford 3 maintained their 100% record with a narrow victory over Spirit of Atticus. Kings Head 2 and Anglian Avengers make up the rest of the top four.

There is a distinct possibility that the second division next year may have lots of first and second teams from the same squads.

The tables for divisions 1, 2, and 3 are here:

http://www.4ncl.co.uk/tbs_1314.htm

Helpfully, the division 1 and 2 tables don't include the round 8 results. Maybe they will appear there a bit later.

If you go on the main page, rather than where it says tables on the left sidebar, you will see this:

Crosstables (after weekend 4)
Division 1 Ch'p Pool | Division 2 Ch'p Pool | Division 3s&n |
Division 1 Dem Pool | Division 2 Dem Pool |

If you click on the appropriate link, then that will get the Division 1/2 tables with the Round 8 results in.

No idea :) Hard to see anyone stopping them now though. They must be very unlikely to be weaker with it being the final weekend and Spirit, who made a valiant try, have been the only team even within 100 average Elo of them.

The struggle for the other promotion spots looks set to be utterly terrifying.

Well, those who have already played Guildford 3 may have a slight advantage, and some unlucky team in contention may get paired against them in the final round. Not sure where Guildford 3's opponents in rounds 1-7 are currently distributed in the table.

Guildford 3 have played:
3Cs 2
e2e4 4
Sussex SS 1
Sandhurst Scorpions
Anglian Av 2
Leeds Uni OB
SoA 1
Kings Head 2

Presumably they get MK Phoenix 1 or e2e4 2 in round 9
