You are quite correct Roger, white did indeed play Ba2-b1, and return after my misplaced f7-f5 move.
Maybe I should report this to the controllers for correction. if an email is available.
Incidentally, white played Ba2-b1, I think with the intention of playing B-e4, gaining stronger control in the centre...and bringing his N into play.

I had considered playing a5 to break whites Q-side Ps..not sure that would have worked.
Also, when white played Nc5, I considered BxN and trying to force the Q-side Ps.. again unclear.
Finally, I retreated my (move 37) K to f7, when maybe I should have pushed e4, looking to advance the K immediately to e5, but maybe white can hold that.
Draw probably the right result...

Wins for all 3 Manticores teams today :D

Pool A - Broadland & 3Cs won as might be expected, Bradford A beat Cheddleton and it looks likely the 3 winners will reach the promotion pool

Pool B - Alba & SoA B both won much more narrowly than the ratings would suggest - Alba & MM1 look destined for the promotion pool

I think (understandably!) confused by Bradford B vs Cheddleton 3 :)

3C's drew with Bradford A in round 3 - very tough fight as I remember. Cheddleton 2 were disposing of Jorvik.... Bradford A did then beat Cheddleton 2 in the 4th round, so a good weekend for them.

Really should be very comfortable for 3C's 2/Ched 2/Broadland (seemingly 2/2 this weekend including 5-1 vs Holmes Chapel) Brad A for the promotion pool there - a big gap down to Holmes Chapel.

Jorvik are missing some of our solid mid board players, so rather an uphill struggle with how solid the bottom boards on a lot of these teams have got now!

Weekend 3 sees Holmes Chapel playing 3Cs 2 & Bradford A, so that's the crunch for them - Cheddleton 2 play MM3 & Broadland

Tough ask for HC that though! I guess if they can sneak 2 points somewhere they can hit 8, which should do for a tie with at least one of Ched2 or Broadland. No idea about the tie breaks.

Interesting thing about being (moderately) sure about the promoted teams is knowing a lot of the carry over. DCA A are very likely to have 5/6, 3C's 2 a decent amount (3 , 1 to play), Cheddleton 2 2 maximum, and Broadland not fixed yet.

Tons of promotion pool candidates in the other division, but MM1/Alba have made a good start on getting a chunky carry over there. (I think I'll randomly back Spirit and whoever wins DCA B vs MM 2.).

Might end up being - in contrast to what happened last season! - an awfully predictable fight for promotion ;)

Tie break rules are:
the greatest number of game points in the preliminary pool;
the result of the match between the teams still tying;
board count;
elimination from the bottom board upwards;
the toss of a coin. Tie breaks shall be applied in order until all ties are broken.
Broadland already have 16.5, so look set to qualify - HC have 10.5 with Ched 2 on 12.5, so not insurmountable, but as you say the qualifiers are likely to be Ched 2

That two point game point gap looks rather big to me given the fixtures. HC have 3C's 2, Bradford A and Jorvik to play. Ched 2 Manchester 3, Spirit C and Bitterns so.... Not that I think HC will mind much which pool they end up in.

As for Jorvik, one more tough match vs Broadland then we can start the relegation pool matches early :)

Oh, if we're talking about hotels from Div 3S, Wychwood park did feel a bit soulless/cut off compared to Buxton and to some extent Darlington. Still also entirely functional as a venue, nice space etc - so miles ahead of many chess venues!

I liked it when we played there years ago, lots of room to wander about outside, but yes the town centre venues are best (Harrogate, Buxton) but unlikely to want chess when they can be full with other guests

Was the playing room downstairs or upstairs this weekend?

Downstairs, which was a very suitably sized space.

Space to wander yes, and I guess the greens being covered in their own thin, tidy layer of snow was amusing :) Probably saw a sparrow hawk. To some degree I think I was mentally off in the hills somewhere, like on Sunday!

Really not complaining mind - compared to chasing tables round a building to have anything to play on or my breath visibily condensing when setting up sets?!
(The latter being yesterday evening....).

I recollect the upstairs room being better than downstairs as a playing venue, although downstairs is more accessible - good venue though

Good luck to everyone this weekend, hopefully the weather won't affect the travelling

I gather Manx Ravens aren't playing, which is disappointing, and means that both MM1 & Bradford B have 6-0 wins, but will be engaged in a triangular match with Alba this weekend (with the MM1 v Bradford B a graded friendly) - pity as the Alba matches will be key, assuming all 3 teams qualify as now seems very likely

It makes SoA B v MM2 today a crunch match too

Presume they asked about that replacement arrangement. I'd be very resistant to it myself. The Alba vs MM1 match is really quite big in the context of 3N - definitely merits a stand alone match.

As for being dragged into a graded friendly rather than getting a free day.... Hope it didn't hurt the team MM1 can get out vs Alba much.

Anyway, hope Jorvik can at least win a game this weekend :) Some hope as quite a decent team today, and finally some kinder opposition on Sunday.
