Re: Division Three South (2015-16)
The pool system is new to Div 3 S & N, so a bit early to draw conclusions - it is a coincidence that Div 3N has 16 teams this season, if there are a different number next season then a different system will be needed anyway
Of course, Div 3 S doesn't have to have the same system as Divs 1 & 2

On a lighter note if CSC Rhinos don't make it into the promotion pool we have the potential for a Kane-Truran pairing when Oxford face CSC

That game might necessitate an additional arbiter. It would be a good test for someone who has just qualified for the FA title.LawrenceCooper wrote:On a lighter note if CSC Rhinos don't make it into the promotion pool we have the potential for a Kane-Truran pairing when Oxford face CSC

Good point, I'll contact the Manager of Arbiters (International) to see how the title application is progressingDavid Sedgwick wrote:That game might necessitate an additional arbiter. Re: Division Three South (2015-16)
The same system operates for all the three Divisions; the only significant difference is that only two teams from Div Three (South) will be promoted to Division Two. Obviously this is the first season that this system has operated.Mick Norris wrote:The pool system is new to Div 3 S & N, so a bit early to draw conclusions - it is a coincidence that Div 3N has 16 teams this season, if there are a different number next season then a different system will be needed anyway

One thing that certainly should be considered in the question of relegation/promotion is that teams that are in a relegation place will avoid relegation if there are drop-outs in their own or higher division. The team who finish third in Division Three (South) or indeed Division Three (North) will not be considered for promotion to Division Two until all vacancies are filled by current incumbents. So a team finishing bottom of the Division Two relegation pool possibly with a score of 2/14 (or overall 2/22) would be given preference over a team in a Division Three promotion pool who finish third possibly with a score of 9/14 (or overall 17/22). If a team finishes in the bottom two of a relegation pool they deserve to be relegated.

One other consideration for teams may be the venues for next season, as yet unannounced. One would guess that Division Three South may well disappear south which may make it less desirable for teams such as Shropshire but there's no way of knowing if team selections will be influenced by their likely destination next season until a decision is announced.

Have we heard anything about venues for Div 3 s or N and Div 4 next season then?

I'm sure its all controlled by what hotels can be found, but a bit further south for 3S would definitely make logical sense. Its a long way from London as it stands. Maybe more impact on Division 4.

Which is why Broadland play in Div 3 N - long way from East Anglia, South Coast, WECU let alone London

Discussions with hotels are proving extraordinarily difficult - more difficult than in any previous season. We're on the case though, and will get things sorted just as soon as we are able.

Re: Division Three South (2015-16)
If it helps, Div 3 N may be at Wychwood and Wakefield, with Div 3 S and Div 4 S tentatively pencilled in for Wokefield Park.
A venue/venues for Divs 1 and 2 is/are still proving problematic. One problem is that we can't find anything beginning with "w".
PLEASE don't treat any of these venues as gospel. Nothing has been firmed up yet.

Sad news if we're moving away from Telford - we like it there.Mike Truran wrote:If it helps, Div 3 N may be at Wychwood and Wakefield, with Div 3 S and Div 4 S tentatively pencilled in for Wokefield Park.

Places beginning with W - Wolverhampton; West Bromwich; Walsall, Wellingborough, Wigston and Worcester would suit.
But not Witney!

Very tempting. However, although I could walk to the venue, I fear the Four Pillars Hotel on the Ducklington roundabout may find its bedroom and conference capacity just a little stretched. But not Witney!
Very nice pool and gym though. And we had a great time at Cyril's 80th birthday bash a few weeks back. The Midwest Big Band ("Swindon's #1 Big Band", "Big Band Jazz, Swing and Dance") were particularly good.
