60th Paignton Congress

The country's best annual congress ended yesterday. Keith Arkell won the Premier. Richard Bryant won the Boniface Morning event. Nigel Dennis won the American (again!). The results of the Michael Adams simul have been reported already in the 'General Chat' section (the most noteworthy game being Rob Thompson's victory over GM). I don't know any other results.

My thanks to Alan Crickmore, the chief organiser, and to Ewart Smith and his team of arbiters for doing so much to make this such a friendly congress in the fabulous setting of Oldway Mansion. I've posted some photos here:

Next year's congress is already in the ECF tournament calendar for early September. Take it from one who has been to virtually every congress in the land, there is none better, so put these dates in your calendar and try to get there.
