The prize money, the control team, the views, the town...all impressive. A great congress once again, thanks to all 300 people who supported it again this year. Next year's dates 25th-27th October.

Played, not as well as last year, in the Foundation. Wanted to see results, but Foundation and Minor have something wrong with them, they will not display. I get an SQL error reported

That sounds like a fantastic attendance. There was some concern amongst certain people that numbers would be down because of the £6 charge for non-ECF members (particularly in relation to Scots, Welsh and Yorkshiremen). I'm pleased that appears to have been unfounded.Lara Barnes wrote:A great congress once again, thanks to all 300 people who supported it again this year.

The numbers were slightly down on last year but still very acceptable.
The number of Scots taking part was down significantly I believe. Fortunately Yorkshire participation was good. Welsh numbers at this event have always been slight.

I think most of the regular congress players will have always been ECF members and won't have particularly minded to pay an extra few quid to obtain a Silver (or Gold) membership.Sean Hewitt wrote:That sounds like a fantastic attendance. On a slightly different note, I am captaining two teams this year where ECF grade the games, Bradford B in the YCA Woodhouse Cup (Saturday league) and Bradford DCA Knights in the 4NCL. Out of those two teams, I have only had one player who has made himself unavailable to play (partly) because of the increase in cost to join the ECF. Everyone else has accepted that they need to join and have done so accordingly.
