The Manchester Chess Federation was very pleased to be able to work with Salford City Council to organise an International Chess Tournament at the Civic Centre, Salford on Saturday 20th June. Salford City Council is twinned with Clermont Ferrand (France), Lunen (Germany) and St Ouen (France). MCF were able to run a chess tournament as part of the twinning celebrations this year.

The event was controlled by two of MCF’s experienced controllers, Rod Middleton and Julian Clissold. Thanks also go to Jane Topping of Worsley Chess Club who joined the Control Team.
