I'd like to say publicly how good I thought the web coverage of the 2007 British Championship was. Live games, downloads, results, photos, webcams... everything was delivered accurately and promptly by the behind-the-scenes team in Great Yarmouth and you can't ask for more than that. Well done to Bob, Dave and all the other people involved.

Yes, we were pleased with the improved web site this year. Although all the web cams were hosted by Great Yarmouth College, so a big thanks to them. We can only provide this type of coverage if the infrastructure is available at the venue and supported by their staff. Lets hope the ECF take note of what we can achieve and that IT facilities become one of the determining factors for venue selection in the future. To their credit, the ECF purchased additional electronic DGT boards as some of the others were failing.

My experience of the IT support at St. George’s Hall in Liverpool last September does not bode well for the British Championships in 2008. Hopefully this can be addresed well before the event.
