Staffordshire County Cup Finals

Good Evening

The final round of the Hickman Trophy is being played tonight at Stafford Chess Club between Stafford and Lichfield. The Hickman cup is for clubs in Staffordshire and has no grading limit. For the first time it will be published live on the internet using live boards.

I take it white's final Kd4 in Collins-Acey didn't actually happen, and this is just the kings' being put in the centre to indicate resignation?

I believe so Jack, everyone finished within minutes of each other guess the king must have wound up there.

I think there were a few (many?) moves by both sides that weren't the best. I've still no idea why i didn't play 49...Kb5, 30...Qc6 and I suspect that going for the rook ending may not have been best had he played 37 Rd6-b6.
