Including Anthony Stebbings round 8 game as he hopefully closes in on an IM norm.

Thanks. Fingers crossed for him. Does anyone know the record (ENG and world) for oldest age for IM and GM norms (by which I mean by those who haven't achieved those titles, as IMs and GMs presumably achieve that level into the senior ranks as well)?

The ENG record is probably Jeff Horner of Lancs who got two IM Norms in the 1970s and then a final Norm at one of the Isle of Man Internationals. I think he was just under 60 at the time.

The rating requirement is a likely difficulty for the older player to gain a title. In Geoff's case, he had made the rating but not the Norm more than thirty years earlier.

Stebbings putting up a good fight, though it looks like the score will be 3-0 to Russia soon on the other boards.

Might be 4-0 soon (after 39.c5). :(
