Including Anthony Stebbings round 8 game as he hopefully closes in on an IM norm.

Re: European Seniors
Thanks. Fingers crossed for him. Does anyone know the record (ENG and world) for oldest age for IM and GM norms (by which I mean by those who haven't achieved those titles, as IMs and GMs presumably achieve that level into the senior ranks as well)?

Re: European Seniors
The ENG record is probably Jeff Horner of Lancs who got two IM Norms in the 1970s and then a final Norm at one of the Isle of Man Internationals. I think he was just under 60 at the time.Christopher Kreuzer wrote:Thanks. Fingers crossed for him. Does anyone know the record (ENG and world) for oldest age for IM and GM norms
The rating requirement is a likely difficulty for the older player to gain a title. In Geoff's case, he had made the rating but not the Norm more than thirty years earlier.

Stebbings putting up a good fight, though it looks like the score will be 3-0 to Russia soon on the other boards.
Might be 4-0 soon (after 39.c5).
