around the end of july/start of august. Then a few corrections and its pretty much complete for the start of september.
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

From Richard Haddrell :
This is going to ECF Direct Members only.
(If you cannot open the attachment, see footnote.)

ECF GRADING: PRELIMINARY RESULTS CHECK
The attachment is not a final list of your results, and it does not contain your 2010 grade. It is a list of all your 2009-10 results reported so far, sent so that you can check it.

It may be incomplete. Some events (representing perhaps 15% of games played) have not reported their results yet. They are not late, but they are running fairly close to the deadline. Waiting for them before sending this Preliminary Check would leave insufficient time to handle corrections in time for the July 2010 grading list.

WHICH EVENTS HAVE NOT REPORTED YET?
The ECF website (see Grading page) has a list of Events Received 2009-10. If an event is not in that list, it has not been reported and will not be in your attachment (please do not write to say it is missing). If it is in the website list, its absence from your attachment could mean error. It may not, because the website list is continuously updated and the event may have come in since your attachment was prepared. However, you are asked to report any omission which appears as "graded" on the ECF site.

HOW DO I REPORT ERRORS?
Please report any errors, as soon as possible, to the Grading Administrator Richard Haddrell [email protected] ([email protected] will also find him.) Give full details of any erroneous or missing result, including the date and the name of the event it was played in. Please be sure to give your name and grading code. Do be prompt. Corrections have to be verified, and this can take time.

WHEN WILL THE GRADING LIST APPEAR?
The 2010 Grading List is expected to appear on the ECF website in late(ish) July. It will incorporate corrections notified in response to this email. At this point Full Members will receive an updated version of their attached printout, together with their new grade(s). Standard, Junior and Basic Members will not. However, they can purchase it (contact the ECF Office) for £5. The price to non-Members is £10.

The July List will be complete and official, but provisional. Corrections will still be possible, and a definitive corrected List will appear on the site at the end of August in time for the new season. The printed List, which is sold in book form, will be prepared at the same time.
