You would think the ideal time to test the IT system would have been on the Sunday rapidplay....I've just tried 2seeitlive's own site and that looks like its down aswell - poor really.

A good start for Ankush Khandelwal, beating Yang-Fan Zhou!

regarding the criticism of the live game feed:-

As I remember it, the last couple of years things were somewhat flakey for the first round or two and then picked up a great deal.

Public vote of thanks from me for those involved in providing the service.

I know the IT guys generally do a good job, but it can't be a great advert to have the top boards not showing on the first day of the event...

Agreed. Carl did mention some time ago that there may be problems with live coverage at this year's British but I'm sure everyone is doing their best to resolve them in time for tomorrow.

It was clear there would be issues but with little to zero budget it is impressive we get anything at all to be honest!

The moves for boards 2-6 are now available via the live game link and board 1 appears to be working.

I've just looked at the results page linked to earlier:

http://www.britishchess2011.com/events_ ... p_2011.htm

Are boards 1 and 29 still in play?

One other results to flag up: Donald J. Mason (2237) drew with GM Peter Wells (2489).

EDIT: OK, from the live boards, I see Adams won on board 1. No moves, yet, though.

Some nice games- I've actually played through some for the first time in ages. Really liked Short's handling of the Caro Kan- one of the very few times I've seen it used in an aggressive fashion in the opening. Seemed to have the idea of activating a bishop similar to a way he advocated in the French defence. Liked Hebden's win over Rudd too.

Another result- 'Yorkshire's number one' Palliser losing to a junior- after trying to bail out with a draw in the opening!
