watching the webcam, i don't think so. Good grief qxh7 then f7 looked like a clean win

Ke2 was somewhat strange - Qxh7 and f7 was fairly simple

Must have missed that f7 Rxf7 Qxg6 Rxf2 was check?

What an extraordinary game! I'm a bit surprised they have both been playing so quickly, this isn't blitz after all.

Like Kramnik says, rapidplay is still proper chess. Blitz is just random.

My Houdini had Gordon at +8(!) when Gawain blundered his queen, now he might even be losing...

I wonder if he either managed to miss ....Bg6, or had some kind of brainstorm and thought that if he promoted the f-pawn it'd be mate.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

To be fair, the position after the Queen went was of a type where computers, even now, could probably slightly misassess. Or at least not be able to appreciate the difficulties for a human player.

I was looking at this before Qe4 with Rf1 being huge. This game is pretty exciting!

Does Rxf3 work too? Followed by Bd4+ and g2+?

Yes, but not how you'd hope to see a title decided
