He might be but I wouldn't mind somebody showing me.

I agree, it isn't anymore obviously lost in the final position than it was a few moves before, and people generally don't resign after playing a move unless it is really obvious. That is how time losses look though, so seems a plausible guess.

A good scalp for Marcus Harvey, not withstanding he is probably 150-200 points under-rated (i'll keep the discussion of k for another thread :) ). I played him last year, and it was clear in the post-mortem that he had calculated some very deep variations.

An experience you have never had when playing me.

Yeah, nice to see a good scalp for a young player, though gormally was playing some dodgy stuff. I just came back to find to find it won but even three hours ago when gormally played Bxf2 it looked pretty dodgy to me even though he drummed up a short term initiative.

James holland continues his fine run of form too - at this rate he could be starting to think towards getting a norm of some kind.
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

What do we think of Mackle - Egglestone now?
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

And do we think Hanley's given Howell a passed pawn he shouldn't have?

I don't thnk white has any serious chances with the pawns so far back.

It does look grim. But things were already a bit desperate.

It's interesting to put the position after Black's 54th into Nalimov. (I won't give anything away here.)

I think 55. f4 would have given better chances

Is that a joke?

I assume Justin is pointing out black has reached a position where white loses his g pawn trying to break the blockade on f5?

If he tells us white is wining, I am going to have to go into my loft to look for the discs!

Howell-Hanley looks winning for White to me. Mackle-Eggleston is a draw, it helps if Black knows the easiest way is to put the Bishop on c8 or d7 (which he hasn't done yet).

That's kind of what I was trying not to give away.
