^^ Why don't you ask him (:

It would be inappropriate for me to respond directly to you on the forum but if you want to ask via PM I would be happy to. Suffice it to say I am well :)

I certainly wasn't prying, just wanted to know everything was ok.

Just got home. Others are just arriving. What a brilliant first week! All started for me with the All-Play-All Simul won by Jack Rudd. Great fun. Looking at the 2nd weekend rapidplay entry, the final count will be very close to 1200. Amazing! Torquay is really buzzing. Chess players are everywhere. Not least in the pubs and restaurants, and one even turned-up at my breakfast table this morning. Commentator Andrew Martin was spotted sitting out in the embers of the evening sun on Saturday with Marilyn Monroe at the exclusive Ocean Drive - she couldn’t stop smiling at her celebrity escort (and as we all know she enjoys a decent carvery). I see Brendan O’Gorman’s photo warehouse includes snaps of me in both my yellow and pink fancy dress outfits, and I can now collect on my bet. The green variation was left in the wardrobe after I was described as a giant pea (that last word may be incorrectly spelt). Finally, I’m sure we all hope James Waddington has made a speedy recovery - he was due to be discharged from hospital yesterday. That's a relief.

Oh no it's quite alright that you inquired :) Just not the sort of thing I should talk about on the forum.

Jim Waddington was at the venue today like nothing had happened. Great to see him.

Got back to Harrogate today having had an extremely enjoyable weekend (helped by the glorious weather - up until Sunday). As I said to Lara yesterday it was well worth the five hour train journey (and yes I'm happy to be quoted on that). The atmosphere was electric and I was proud to be a part of it - even if my contribution was playing my usual haphazard chess on the balcony.
