Hey all,
I hope you're all enjoying the Fantasy Chess Olympiad competition as well as the Olympiad itself!
For those of you who have missed the start or like me picked a seriously terrible squad(!) we will be running a Week 2 Sprint competition, this will be announced very soon on the home page of the Yorkshire Chess site and includes great prizes too!
All results will be published here: Fantasy Chess Olympiad Results
Finally, I'm sure you will agree we have a tremendous list of prizes so please spread the word to get as many people involved as possible to give everyone a chance to win something!

I'm on 54 points so far. The Swaziland women turned up for the start of round 3, so all of my picks have now scored points. Jolly Nepando of Namibia and Rose Wabuti of Kenya are my two star players so far.

You can now enter our Week 2 Sprint competition!!!
As you can view how the players have performed and what strength of opposition they are likely to face over the next few rounds, this competition should be very interesting indeed...
Enter here
Good luck!

Re: Fantasy Chess Olympiad 2014
I have entered 2 teams, one on 78 and one on 79. (after 4 rounds)
Laura Rogule is the best one in my team. I like to pick a player from the ICCD as well, and went for Klasan after his 9/9 2900+ performance in Opatija, but looks like Duilio Collutiis was the pick of the team! Done quite reasonably in the first three rounds, but both teams scored below 20 and one scored 12(!) in the 4th!

I'm currently sitting on 90 points, but since one of my picks has scored merely 1 (JAVAKHISHVILI Lela) that's about as good as I could hope for I think.
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

Hmm. I completely forgot about Peru women's team, where they were completely weak on the bottom 3, but that they had Cori Deysi on board 1! I suspect she would have been a really good choice!
