Post by Ernie Lazenby » Mon Nov 03, 2014 1:08 pm

Can someone with computer knowledge better than mine(not difficult) please advise as to the suitability of the new Fritz 14 for use on my lap top wich is a;

Compaq Presario. AMD Turion X2 64 (whatever that is) running Windows Vista.

I dont want to buy it if the lap top is not suitable.

The system requirements for Fritz 14 are:
Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows Vista, XP (Service Pack 3), 7/8, DirectX9, 256 MB graphics card, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and Internet access for program activation, access to Playchess.com, Let’s Check and program updates. Recommended: PC Intel i5 (Quadcore), 4 GB RAM, Windows 8.1, DirectX10, 512 MB graphics card, 100% DirectX10-compatible sound card, Windows Media Player 11, DVD-ROM drive and Internet access for program activation, access to Playchess.com, Let's Check and program updates
You tell us about the CPU of the computer, that is somewhere in between the minimum specification and the recommended specification for the CPU.
You tell us the Operating System and Windows Vista seems acceptable.
You do not tell us about the RAM, if you have at least 2 GB RAM then your computer should be ok, not the fastest but above the minimum specification.

Thank you. The memory is (Ram) 3.0GB
a 32 bit operating system

Therefore I should be okay?

3 > 2 :)

I imagine it can actually run in quite a low amount of memory - <2 even - but the performance will suffer quite badly once if you get too low.
