List of chess tournament

Post by soheil_hooshdaran » Fri Sep 25, 2015 4:54 pm

Hi.
Is there some place that gathers the information of all the tournaments in such a way that we can mine them with a data mining approach or something like that?
Thank you

What do you mean by "... mine the..."?

Did you mean to write - mine them?

Not sure what exactly you want, Soheil, but I think the most comprehensive service is provided by The Week in Chess:

http://www.theweekinchess.com

This also has a weekly bulletin of a very large number of gamesin pgn format, organised in complete tournaments, and could be used in a data mining exercise. The past three years or so bulletins are still available, though the services has been running now for about 20 years.

A "forty-niner" would never forget his nose - he'd follow it.

A couple more leads (pronounced "leeds" not "leds") that might turn to gold -

Or if you don't know what he's going on about:

Why do I get the feeling that tacit support for Soheil's hare-brained schemes is slowly undermining me?

Never mind, here's a short cautionary nasal tale -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nose_(Gogol)

There might have been a sequel (pronounced like "seek-well") in which "The Nose" goes off to the USA in 1848 and reaches California just in time for the 1849 gold rush. However, by 1848 when Gogol returned to Russia - after a long sojourn abroad that ended with a pilgrimage to Jerusalem - he had already ceased to publish works of fiction.
