I thought he said that he moved with one hand and pressed the clock with the other. The arbiter saw it and there was some kind of verbal altercation and he was expelled for "intolerable behavior".

"some kind of verbal altercation" - now that I *can* understand.

One of the contestants 'Slav' in the Blue Team said he was a keen chess player.

Apparently he was playing in a Manchester tournament, he won his first four games but in the fifth
game castled using both hands, forfeited the game and was expelled from the tournament.

Slav and his partner (a bald headed guy with a beard ) won with £42.00.

do you have the link?
wonder if he is know in the chess world?

Sorry John for the delay in replying.

I have found this:

http://subsaga.com/bbc/entertainment/ba ... tling.html

Tim: " what do you like to get up to? "

Lech: "Well, I'm into sort of current affairs, fitness training and whenever possible, chess. "
Especially for the chess when I was younger, my school won a tournament, the National
Tournament, the under-11s Bishop Challenge and that kind of developed into a more serious hobby.

Tim: "Tell us about the championship when you had a problem?"

Lech: Oh, about two, three months ago, there was a tournament at the Manchester City Stadium.
They'd won four matches and I got disqualified because I made a move with my left hand,
but I pushed the stop clock with my right and that' against chess protocol, so unfortunately,
I lost the match.

There was a bit of a verbal exchange and, unfortunately, the adjudicator heard
and I think I'm the only person to be expelled from a chess tournament for "intolerable behaviour".

Hi Mick,

The link is sound.

I assume that is the script for the people who use sub titles.

Chat up line No.146.

"Have you seen the film Love Story and U-Boat 73?"

"No,"

"It's the same as 'Love Story' but has sub-titles."

Good Luck.

Hi Geoff

I was in charge at the chess rapidplays at the City of Manchester Stadium, and I don't remember any players being expelled
