....though a Google search for "Gilded Pawn" restaurant produces no hits, nor does a search for any reference to this Ramsay v Shankland ruck. Are there any actual sources?

Pretty sure Geoff was just trying to be funny. It's got nothing to do with Ramsay or cooking. I've just watched the first episode. Was all right but I wouldn't watch it again. There's a bit about it on Chessbase news.
