Best ever team player?

Post by Nick Burrows » Mon Apr 03, 2017 6:13 pm

I would be very surprised if anyone can beat the record of Tigran Petrosian.

6 individual olympiad gold medals (9 team golds) with a record of 78 wins, 50 draws, 1 loss!

Any other candidates?

Most of the Soviet players of that era had pretty impressive records in Olympiads.

Soviet Olympiad records discussed previously here (for those who missed it at the time):

Apparently, Petrosian's single loss was on time in a rook endgame he could well have held.
