well, after being a lazy git most of my adult life, I consider myself stronger than I was 18......However, I do believe the only restraint to maintaining and improving is motivation....not so much to do with dwindling brain cells, perhaps at a very high level, but not at the 200 level rating level.....it is just like riding a bike....

Good to see Andrew put this back on track with some positive personal input.

Have to agree with GM Keith Arkell, though, who also commented here that health and fitness play a bigger part in performance when older.

There's riding a bike at one end, and the Tour de France at the other.
