The most contentious issue of the AGM is now being discussed:

Should the AGM be

1. Only physical
2. Only Zoom
3. A hybrid meeting

and combined with that could it occur in Manchester?

A vigorous debate is on-going.

This could go on for some time.
Sounds like the peas Vs heat/cold pack debate would be better.

Discussion on this weighty matter continues.

Manchester has been thrown into the mix.

The zoom participants have been cut-off and 5p has been added to the meter to restore connectivity,

Until contact between the room and the Zoom community fell over.

Tim [Wall] asked if execs should be allowed to influence elections for non-execs.
As a Platinum member, I raised that issue with the Platinum Members' Representatives.

Do we yet have a result of the election for a Non-Executive Director?

The meeting has concluded without a dry eye in the house.

It's been emotional!

Thanks, but do you mean Greep 126, Atkinson 81, Hok 30?

Freudian slip, perhaps?

Hearing about the meeting from a remote island is better than going to the meeting.

Greep 126 Atkinson 81 Hok 30
That is a closer result than I would have expected when the nominations were advanced.

I don't think that Truran's communications helped Greep at all - rather the reverse.

I followed the meeting from the Old Grey Mare in Hull which is opposite the University where the excellent 4NCL norm tournament and weekend Congress is taking place (a quick third round game facilitated my "attendance".

The Congress is of course organised by the new NED.

Not sure that you can necessarily conclude that at all. Mr Greep still polled over 50%. Mr Atkinson was arguably a more credible candidate in this election than that which Mr Woodhouse won against Mr Wall also with Mr Truran's endorsement. But it seems that taking a swipe at Mike Truran remains part of the tradition for some in ECF circles.

Most of the people went to Birmingham felt there should not be a Zoom option. Most of the people who couldn't be bothered to go felt it was important for others to go, but they themselves should have a Zoom option.

The people who were not in Birmingham were sure they did not need to be in Birmingham. Other people were entitled to make their own decisions.
