Re: IMMEDIATE ACTION DEMAND

Post by Chris Majer » Thu May 22, 2008 10:37 pm

The new Board decided a fortnight ago to hold a review of the Chess for Schools Project at the Board meeting to be held on 7th June. The Constituent Units have been invited to send a representative to this meeting. If anyone cares to send me specific questions (at [email protected]) that they wish to be asked at this session, then I will do my best to do so.

In view of this, I request that people now desist from personal attacks on Charles and the project in general.

Debate?! What debate? All it seems to me is that everyone is trying to dishearten Charles and put him down in whatever way they can, and give themselves plausible deniability on the somethimes scathing attacks they make on him and the work he does.

I have a question for the meeting : "Can you see the ECF succeeding as an organisation if the Chess for Schools project doesn't work?" Don't you think it should be allowed to be run in whatever way Charles sees fit? He's done no harm thus far, that I can see, and has at least brought some good chess publicity to the news when compared to the farce that was the resignations.

I think we have also on a few occasions seen Benford's law of controversy demonstrated.

It states:

"Passion is inversely proportional to the amount of real information available."

Blimey, I've been wondering why he hasn't been around much recently. Now I know. A shame... :(
