Thanks very much Andrew - It would have been nice to meet you, you should have said hello!

I do want to put one thing right however (not just you) - Alex did his usual great job as an Arbiter on The British but otherwise had very little to do with the running of the event. The real hero was Roger Edwards, my right hand man throughout.

Since last November, when he was sacked as manager, Alex has done absolutely nothing to help me organise the Championships and only agreed to be an arbiter a week before.

I still love him dearly but I am getting a bit sick of people assuming that he continued behind the scenes in some way - he did not.

(Not that I blame anyone for thinking this)
