Re: Website & branding review
I would assume it would be Adam Raoof.
Last time the logo was resigned, it was done by Create Services (Mark Rivlin)
You can see that Mark is a keen chess player - here is a picture of him on Adam's Flickr account

Well, "website & branding" is the remit of the Marketing Director.David Sedgwick wrote:And who might that be?Alex Holowczak wrote:That I don't know. Ask the relevant Director.Angus French wrote:Would it be possible to make this information publicly available?

I think your assumption is wrong. See Alex H's subsequent post.Matthew Turner wrote:I would assume it would be Adam Raoof.

I've now sent an email to Andrew Farthing, Tim Woolgar and Adam Raoof to ask for further information.

Matthew, I had an exchange of emails with Tim Woolgar two days ago. He wanted to know about my credentials as a tenderer. I explained my interest and am waiting to hear further.Matthew Turner wrote:Angus,

I only suggested that I alone didn't like it but that is more the use of Wordpress than your efforts in general Andrew so sorry I meant no offenseAndrew Walker wrote:A little late but - thanks a bunch Carl ...

Re: Website & branding review
I have been informed (in the style of Woodward and Bernstein) that tenders ranging between £7,000 and £12,000 have been offered to date but I cannot back this up with any firm evidence (for which I apologise). I refer you to my source known as Deep Throat for the purposes of this post.
I assume that the Manager of ICT has not evaluated the various tenders since he/she does not currently exist. I imagine we will wait to see which standard off-the-shelf/WordPress plug-in solution is selected and invoice submitted. Very nice work if you can get it!
I did request a technical specification for the tender and was disappointed not to receive it.
From various conversations at the recent Richmond Rapidplay I understand that discussions have taken place to move various menu items around on the main site as some persons are not able to navigate the current layout resulting in much gnashing of teeth amongst non-IT persons.
On that bombshell I guess we will have to await the April finance meeting for further clarification.
There is a rumour (which I have just started) that the ECF is considering re-branding itself as Consignia Chess. We await developments with bated breath!

Shockingly poor even by ECF standards, lets hope money is not wasted yet againJohn Upham wrote:I did request a technical specification for the tender and was disappointed not to receive it.

Re: Website & branding review
When a previous Manager of IT visited the Battle Office he told them how lucky they were for him to give them a day of his life as he'd normally charge £1,000 for consultancy.Carl Hibbard wrote: Shockingly poor even by ECF standards, lets hope money is not wasted yet again
When asked for direction on the look and feel for the web site he advised them to "make it look pretty".
