According to the times_chess twitter feed, he attends the same chess PR events as Ray himself.

A shame then that he cannot get the Times Correspondent to discontinue public attacks on ECF officials.

The Streatham blog returns to this subject, specifically the claim that it would take six months for chess boxing to be recognised as a sport by Sport England.

It will interesting to hear TWs end-of-year report at the October AGM detailing actual deliverables.

Why would anyone be surprised by this; great claims of great deeds to come from not only TW seem to be the norm from some ECF officials. The lame duck council members seem eager to buy into this rubbish wich says much about council does it not. I doubt sanity will ever return to the ECF, thats assuming it ever was present in the first place. Our game is a national joke if we are reduced to buying into this circus.

I think the fact that of all bodies, Council almost rejected him in favour of nobody speaks volumes.

I think Council will certainly reject him next time.

Sean, that implies that Council both recognises and learns from its own mistakes. I wouldn't take that for granted, and I suspect that ulterior motive having been achieved, he won't stand for re-election.

I'm going to be the last man standing, aren't I? I can see myself having to find another nine board members out of thin air.

Sometimes a one man band can achieve more than nine. You can do it Jack :P

I know this is slightly off topic but I have to ask; has anyone seen or heard anything of the ghost otherwise known as our President?

Come back, Charles W Wood...(although all is far from forgiven!). He'd certainly out-bull**it TW, CJ and the rest

For the record, I've seen CJ at four events during his current term of office.

True. I still suffer from the naivety of youth!

To be 100% fair CJ seems to be concentrating on acting at the moment and he does have to make a living somehow.

While we're on the subject I do think the relative absence of the President is a source of much frustration at all levels and that the majority of people want him reconciled with the chess community and setting out his agenda of how he would like to move forward in a positive way. I wish somebody could make him understand that most of the anger directed at him isn't so much a direct result of T shirtgate but the fact that he has had it in his power to resolve the issue for once and for all and has chosen not to do so.
