More generally, this thread has not aged well. Most of the last few pages have been ridiculous, and since Malcolm seems unwilling to specify exactly what his allegations are before the April Council meeting, I guess that most of us will have to wait until then before anything interesting and new is said.

Interesting about the numbers of chess players. In terms of people who play the game casually . Id say surely over 500m just look at the recent WC viewing figures. In india, china and the ussr countries you will get near that number.
