Re: AGM
Some intermittent explosions notwithstanding, overall a less fractious meeting than some I can remember, with quite a lot of laughter and goodwill in evidence. Not the greatest of venues though, and coffee and biscuits in short supply.
Julie did a fine job in bringing the meeting home on time (more or less).

Can't remember whether it came up at the meeting, but thanks for all your work as FIDE Delegate.Nigel Short wrote:A great day for English chess...

(re: David's comment)
I've only been to one Council Meeting (also an AGM) and that was interesting as well (it was the one where Phil Ehr was first elected to the board, can't remember the year now). Like Nick Grey, I was off playing chess for my county. It was good to be able to read about the AGM later by following the reports posted here. The less said about the chess, the better (if I can bear it, I may post the game in another thread and show how it is possible to throw away a winning position and lose a game with a slip after nearly 5 hours of play...).
PS. Congratulations to all those elected and thanks to all those outgoing.

Re: AGM
2011 I think Chris, the one where I didn't get home from London until after midnight
Hope everyone got home safely, well done to everyone who was elected
