From the minutes and point 6 what happened to:

------> It was agreed that the forum perhaps had too many threads, many of which are not used. They should be weeded, and refocused on issues that are relevant to our business and the concerns of our members.

------> It was suggested that our forum looks too similar to the unofficial forum, and that a distinct change would make the two more distinct.

Neil Cooper has made the very valid point that it doesn't improve the image of the ECF to have adverts for counterfeit money prominent on its forum. Equally making announcements about suspension of a director as a headline on the main webpage. But even that has a twist, as the suspended director is actually representing the ECF at a series of international meetings, namely the FIDE Congress. How much "a director is not a director when he's acting FIDE Delegate" spinning do you need to justify that?

Is it a coincidence that the offending and bizarre post on the ECF home page appeared the first day of the 86th FIDE Congress in Abu Dhabi where the interests of the ECF are invested in the same individual that is allegedly suspended as a Director of said organisation?

Reports from the Congress suggest that his presence is much appreciated and that his contribution to proceedings are valued.

The fact that the Director of Home Chess has gained acceptance by the International Community at such a young age must rankle with those anonymous character assassins back home.

In fairness, Carl, the adverts did appear less than 12 hours ago on a Friday night at around midnight.
I don't think the moderation can really be blamed (yet).
What can be blamed is the failure to implement the very elementary requirement for moderator approval of new posters: it is that step which, I'm sure you agree, provides protection for the EC forum and would similarly sort out the ECF.

Possibly but it's now 10:57 and should have been dealt with!

I could do it from here on the train.

I think they've all now been removed along with the account from which they were posted.

Alex Holowczak is not representing himself as an ECF Representative in Abu Dhabi. He is more like me, a private individual. He spoke a couple of times putting forward the material that David Sedgwick requested be considered. He, Alex McFarlane and I probably spoke an above average number of times. Jana Bellin was asked to speak at the Rules Commission meeting about medical matters. I was also at the Rules Commission as a Counsellor.

Really the only time any federation is represented at the FIDE Congress is at the General Assembly during the Election Year.

Did the ECF provide any funding or support for those from the ECF representating either themselves or the ECF?
