The proposal regarding getting rid of game fee has been modified but passed. Now the fee for anyone playing more then 3 games is the same as Bronze membership.

Chess Trust to receive big bequest from Richard Haddrell (apologies if I've mis-spelt his surname).

No real progress with the proposed London Mindsports centre. Go group concerned about lack of ECF enthusiasm.

This is what it said
The British Chess Federation Council recommends to the Trustees of the John Robinson Youth Trust that:
(a) The Trustees give due consideration to requests for funding for junior chess made by the English Chess Federation; and
(b) When determining whether such requests should be accepted, they are prepared to make payments by way of grant out of the capital of the Trust Fund and do not limit the acceptance of such requests to such amounts as can be funded out of the income received by the Trust Fund.
The argument advanced by David Sedgwick and others that John Robinson himself both in his lifetime and his will didn't voice any restrictions on the use of his legacy other than supporting the British Championships appears to have been accepted.

And the trustees can just say "no". It is their job to decide, of course.

They can, but with a suitable majority the BCF Council comprising Union and County representatives can dismiss them and replace them with candidates more in tune with the wishes of the ECF.
