The challenge cup is complete for another year and here is the final table as of yesterday evening.

Peter Large is the winner for the first time, maybe even older than Stephen Berry when he last won.

Does anyone have final tables from the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s or even earlier ?

And perhaps change the title - obviously your SCCA is Surrey, and indeed mine was, but now my SCCA is Somerset!

And just in case anyone was wondering why it says "WIM" at the top, I suspect that's an abbreviation for Wimbledon, the traditional venue for the top section.

Small error there, matches were played at Epsom in general (not all).

Lack of ratings and clubs is disappointing. Data that would be useful.

Looking for first names of these past Surrey Champions, if anyone can help ?

1925 ROBERTSON, T H - Battersea
1927 FLETCHER, A - club unknown
1930 CORNWALL, C F - club unknown
1948 BLACKBURN, R J - club unknown

There doesn't appear to be a record of when the Kennington Chess Club ceased, but the 2nd tier Surrey Individual trophy is called the Slater-Kennington and was presented to the SCCA in 1920. Previously, the Kennington Chess Club championship trophy paid for by Mr Slater presumably.

For those interested the 3rd tier is the Felce Cup started in 1922 and the 4th tier the Wernick Cup also 1922.
You can probably guess who they are named after.

Several players have won 2 out of the 4 events, but only one I could find having won 3 of them

1962 Wernick Cup (club - Battersea) aged 14
1963 nothing, did he play in the Felce Cup I wonder, which was won by H T G Smith
1964 Slater-Kennington (club - Battersea) aged 16
1965 Challenge Cup (club - Mushrooms) aged 17
