I played a correspondence game (BCCS) against J F Lobley in 1984, who I would imagine is the same person listed above. My memory says that his first name is 'Jim', but my scorebook only gives initials and my memory at this remove is unlikely to be reliable. There is a Jim Lobley in the grading list (159; Alwoodley CC) who may be the relevant person.

On the subject of Shogi, Mike Sandeman, who played in the 1976 event, was European Shogi Champion in 1987.
