Interesting,Martin. I hope you can find the moves of the correspondence game between Jacobs and the Manchester Jewish Working Men's Club Chess Society. Moves 1-8 were in the Jewish Chronicle on 4 Jan 1901; I didn't have time to search the whole year.

I just sent you an email about what I discovered many years ago regarding his wife.

The cup was finally sold for £215.
