Thank-you David. I should have remembered those ones.

Some discussion of that was here.

Are there any other titles (including WGM and WIM) that were gained in the last few years, or players with those titles switching to register under 'British Isles' FIDE codes?
GM Jacob Aagaard, as announced on the Quality Chess blog, has recently changed registration from DEN to SCO.

Some questions:

Did no-one from ENG, WLS, SCO, IRL gain any titles in 2015 or 2016? (Titles, not norms)
Nobody from Ireland was awarded any title higher than FM in 2015 or 2016 or so far in 2017.

Currently we have seven IMs (one long inactive - Kelly) and one GM (Baburin) who was possibly only an IM when he transferred to Ireland if I recall; that was many years ago.

We have one player (Stephen Jessel) who achieved his third IM norm last year but has yet to reach a 2400 rating; he's currently 2370.

The highest title held by Irish-registered women is WFM; some of these possibly held the title before transferring to IRL.

(I'll try and search the lists at some point, but if anyone else wants to instead...)
IM title: 2015-02-27 418811 Merry, Alan B ENG 2349 1996 INF

I'm not sure when David Eggleston received his IM title. He had the norms back in 2012 but it was some time after that when he hit 2400.

David Eggleston is on the first page of this thread, having been awarded the title in 2013.

Though having said that, his FIDE rating page gives " 83rd FIDE Congress, Istanbul, TUR, 27 Aug - 10 Sept 2012" as the date of the awarding. Was that a conditional one (the link provided gives his highest rating at the time as being 2382)? I must have had a reason to give 2013 as the year...

In October 2013, there was this:

A thread titled "IM David Eggleston". :D

It has been nearly four years since I looked at this thread. Is anyone aware of any additions needed to this list in the intervening period?

There must be very many, especially if FMs, arbiters etc. are also included.

For example, my post of May 2017 is out of date since Trisha Kanyamarala became Ireland's first WIM last year.

I think if you want to restart this question it should not be in the Chess History area where it doesn't really belong.

Being rather sleepy I'll limit myself mainly to those achieved in my 4ncl team:

IM: Ravi Haria, Adam C Taylor, David Fitzsimons.
FM: Richard York-Weaving

Matthew Wadsworth too.

Justin Tan was born in Cardiff but suspect him being AUS on the rating list may veto his inclusion.

If the 2019-20 season is ever completed I hope to have one addition.

Thank you both. Good point about the section. I agree it should be moved, but not sure where. And I must confess here that my original timeline and this thread as well, were lacking in that I only looked at GM, IM, WGM and WIM titles, and I did not include FM and WFM titles and lower, nor arbiter or organiser titles. I also left out correspondence chess and problem solving/composition titles. Are there any other areas that should be covered to be truly comprehensive?

(Was Richard York-Weaving originally Richard Weaving?)

I think the following are additions to those already listed above -

IM: Andrew Horton 2018, Brandon Clarke 2019, Joseph McPhillips 2018, James Jackson 2019 All ENG
IM: David Fitzsimons 2018 WIM Trisha Kanyamarala 2020 IRL

Yes, the York was added when he married Anna York-Andersen.

If you were to visit

http://britishchessnews.com/fide-title-holders/

you will find a year-by-year listing of British persons who have gained a FIDE title of one kind or another.

Scroll down to 2010 to cover the subject of this thread.

FMs are being added as I can determine the year that their title was gained.

Hope that helps. :D

Feel free to add my FA title for 2015.

Also in CC, there is a "Senior International Master" title (SIM), between IM and GM...

If you look at https://www.iccf.com/Titles.aspx you can search for English title holders by title. I am too lazy to do this and tell you what they are, but you started the list of titles, so you only have yourself to blame!

(You can search for the other home nations as well, obviously)

It's worth noting that Trisha Kanyamarala was born in 2005, and I believe she is the first Irish WIM.
