For information of anyone who may be seeking the first eight BCF Yearbooks issued following WW2 (eight of them, dated 1946/7 to 1956/7)
these are on offer as a single lot in the forthcoming Klittich auction. I won't be bidding for these myself:

Die Jahrbücher enthalten u. a. viele Verbandsinformationen der British Chess Federation, der Regionalverbände und Resultate. Innen gebräunt, vereinzelt fleckig und wenige Seiten mit Defekten. Umschläge teilweise verblichen und mit Gebrauchsspuren. Beiliegt: The British Chess Federation Year Book 1938 + 1939. 2 Hefte. Redhill, Holmsdale, ca. 1938 - 1939. 8°. 36; 11 Seiten, 2 Bll. € 40.00 ? Isn't that cheaper than a subscription to the magazine today? Looks like collecting old chess magazines is on a par with stamp collecting. They end up being worth less than you paid for them and you're best off collecting for artistic or bibliophilic reasons only.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

You have not read the last post Brian Towers. The subject was BCF YEARBOOKS, and not chess magazines. The Yearbooks are being auctioned, and 40 euros is the lowest price expected.
