H.E Bird

Post by Hans Renette » Tue Sep 15, 2015 11:35 am

Hello,

I have a somewhat unusual request. I am finalizing my manuscript on Henry Edward Bird (to be published by McFarland) and am struggling to consult two final newspaper sources. These newspapers are kept at the BL, but they are unfit for use. They are also kept in libraries at Hereford and Horncastle, who are unable to help me with scanning or photographing the few articles I would like to check.
Perhaps someone in this forum is living nearby these places and is willing to help me.

Thanks in advance,
Hans Renette

I do note that there's a Horncastle Chess Club, which may be able to help.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."
