ChessBase Query

Post by John Upham » Sun Oct 03, 2010 2:02 pm

I have both Chessbase 10 and Deep Rybka 3 installed on the same laptop.

It is possible to use ChessBase 10 to analyse positions using the Deep Rybka engine?

If I choose "Add a kibitz engine pane to analyse or assist in a game" I am presented with a list of six ancient engines of which Fritz 6 is the most advanced.

There is an option in the Chessbase 10 File Menu to "Goto Fritz" which then fires up Fritz 11.

Does anyone know how to add the Deep Rybka engine into the list of options?

I realise I can set-up the position in DR and do it that way.

Download and install the CB10 patch from
http://fritzserver.org/updates/c10.exe

which should solve your problem...

I have a second ChessBase query :

On the same laptop I have a recent copy of Chessbase Reader installed. When I use it to turn on an analysis engine I only get the ancient engines (Fritz 6 is the best one) as before with Chessbase 10 itself.

I'm watching an endgame DVD by GM Karsten Muller (although that is not relevant).

Is there a way of fixing ChessBase Reader as well as ChessBase 10 itself?

Hi John,

Not that I'm aware of. But why would you want to watch it in CB Reader when you have CB10? CB10 has so many more useful functions that the reader.

You can even watch it in Rybka 3 - which IMHO would be better than CB Reader.
