Popped down. Visited my better half(on and off board) and then went back home.

£20 is very cheap for a coach these days. Most Grandmasters charge £40+/hour . If you want IM then £20 is the very lower end of the payscale.

£40 that's more than my lawyer. Wait till I tell him he will take up Chess.

Well if you ever go for it don't forget to ask questions. That's the main
benefit of a live coach.
Don't be afraid of how bad you think it will make you look ask.

Was that's Scotland's Andy Green that bought the Roman tapes?

Indeed, the Colin Farrell/Morozovich Lovechild himself from Scotland!

Excellent review. I think you captured well the, how shall I put it, charm of the Dzindi DVDs. I snapped up a load for £5 each. Worst case i could probably sell them for £6. Not a waste of money, as they did entertain me.

His Caro-Kann DVD (don't own it) seems to have got slated. For example, to cover the Panov, he basically says look it up in a book.

On one of his DVDs, he has a bad cold, and a hacking cough right the way through. Why couldn't they reschedule?

You might think,

He's doing this off the cuff with no notes, why couldn't he prepare :(

Then then you might think,

He's doing this off the cuff with no notes, wow, yes he is a strong player

One thing you have to be careful about with ChessBase DVDs is the lines they dismiss. Not going to say who this is about - but in the Caro-Kan 4 Bd3 line when Black plays Qd7. White takes on b7 with his Queen, dull and drawish. Black plays Rb6 - the IM in question just says Rb2 - allowing Bb5!
